Sebastien Turgot is ‘an idiot’: Team Europcar Manager Jean-Rene
Sebastien Turgot has missed three doping tests in the past 18 months and hence risks a two-year ban from professional cycling as reported by L’Equipe.
The newspaper reported that the cyclist has already been summoned by the French authorities regarding his whereabouts.
French Cycling Federation has not taken any action on the matter and the final decision is expected soon.
Team Europcar Team Manager Jean-Rene Bernaudeau was furious on his rider and noted that Turgot has been very negligent.
French newspaper, Ouest-France quoted Bernaudeau as saying, “He's an idiot, it is indefensible, he knew the rules”.
The 28-year-old started riding professionally with Team Europcar in 2008 and is continuing his third consecutive season with the side.
He finished 3rd during the Paris-Tours and the GP de la Somme during his first season with the side and claimed the second stage of the Three Days of De Panne in the 2010 season.
Sebastien started the 2012 season on a high note and rode brilliantly during the Paris-Roubaix.
He was looking good to claim the first overall position but could not match the likes of in-form Tom Boonen.
The French finished 1 minute and 39 seconds behind Boonen and occupied the second position at the 10th World Tour race of the season.
He was happy with the way thing were going this season, "Last year was a terrible season but this year I trained well with my trainer who gives me a lot of confidence”.
“I arrived at these races without any problems and with great sensations”.
It's my third Roubaix. Last year wasn't good. I was in the third group. I didn't have great experiences. Since then I learned a lot”.
“This year I started without pressure. Once the kilometres were passing I felt that I was good so the hope was there".
Although Sebastien has not been tested positive for any illegal substance but missing three doping tests is considered as a doping violation.
Gregory Bauge faced a one year ban for the same reason and the French track rider was also stripped-off from all his 2011 results which include the two world titles.
