Sebastien or Sebastian?

Question

Which spelling do you prefer? I like one, but my husband likes the other spelling. Sebastian is English, Sebastien is French.

My first son's name has the French spelling - Marc. Please tell me what you think and what country you reside in.

I was going to name my third son Sebastian and that is the spelling I prefer. However if you have Marc already, I would keep in theme and name your second son Sebastien. I am in the U.S,A. but was born and raised in Europe.

USA - Definitely Sebastian, if you are in the US.  The other spelling is less common, and if you choose it, people will always be spelling it incorrectly, which will probably just aggravate and upset you.

Flip a coin (a franc and a quarter lol ) for 2 out of three. Both versions are great. I do tend to think go with the French version to coincide with Marc. USA here.

i would go with Sebastian.  since your first child had the french spelling, i would go with a compromise and give this child the english version.
