Second Baseman Ian Kinsler wants to remain a Texas Ranger -MLB Update
Veteran second baseman, Ian Kinsler, is keen of the idea of signing a contract extension as he wants to remain playing for the Texas Rangers and a Ranger himself in the upcoming future since the player does not see himself adjusting and performing with any
other team around the league.
Kinsler was talking to the media during the clubs’ holiday visit to the Children’s Medical Center of Dallas in Texas, about how he wishes to remain on the Rangers, that is if they want him to.
"I want to be here, and I think they know I want to be here," said Kinsler. "The thing I want them to know and the fans to know is I want to be a Ranger. I'm going to try to do whatever I can to stay a Ranger."
Kinsler, a 29-year-old right hander from Tucson, Arizona, United States, has played the last six seasons with the Texas Rangers straight and doing so, he has become one of the teams’ most consistent players that continues to perform day in and day out.
Throughout his career, Kinsler has played in 773 major league games, has 3001 At Bats, 558 runs and 826 hits. Last was a breakthrough in term of performance for the player by playing in 155 games, the most in a single season since 2006, along with an RBI
of 77, 620 At Bats and a .255 batting average.
Kinsler is also a two time All-Star player who was drafted in the 17th round of the 2003 MLB draft.
Along with being happy with the team and wanting to continue playing for the Rangers in the future, Kinsler is also a strong supporter of the fact that he thinks the Texas club is by far the best in the MLB at the moment.
"We believe we have the best team," Kinsler said. "You can talk about all of the signings. You can talk about all of the shifts of power.”
Playing for one of the best teams in the league, if not according to Ian Kinsler, the best, he is certainly happy with his position, which could result in a contract extension in the upcoming days.
