Second IRS rebate?

Question

I heard somewhere that they are going to send a second rebate check later this year, like September/October. Has anyone else heard that or know if it's true?

I realize it's my own money I'm getting back, not a gift from the government like they are trying to make it appear, but I would like to get back as much of my own money as possible.

Nope. Ain't gonna happen.

It IS a gift from the government.  They could have left the tax rates the same and we wouldn't have gotten anything.

Don't forget this is the third gift from the government during the Bush Jr administration.  He has lowered the tax rates three times and each one got almost every tax payer a summer refund (one only went to people with kids under 17).  2001, 2004, and now 2008.  Not bad - he could have kept Clinton's outrageous tax rates - like Obama has promised to restore!
