Question:

Second Interview?

I went on the initial interview on monday, they called me today and want a second interview tomorrow to meet with the vice president of the company.

Do I wear something better than I wore to the first?

Also, my current employer gave me a very nicely worded letter of appreciation. Should I bring that along with my certificates?

  1. Yes and yes.

Bring any letters of recommendation along with a copy of your resume and any certificates you might have.

Toward the end of the interview, ask the interviewer if they'd like to see your credentials. Let them know that there are certificates, letters of recommendation and a copy of your resume in the file, then just hand them the whole thing.

Also, yes wear something nicer, and be sure your hair, face and especially your hands are well presented. You'll be shaking hands with the VP of the company, you don't want to do that with chipped nail polish or dirty, ragged nails (or something to that effect). Sometimes the smallest things create the biggest reaction and you only get one chance to make a good first impression.

    Good luck!

  2. Without knowing what you wore to the first interview, it's hard to guess.  My first thought is this:  If they are calling you back for a second interview, you must have impressed them...obviously by your credentials but also by your appearance and manners.  So, I guess I would dress similarly, unless you noticed a great disparity between how you and others in the company were dressed. For an interview, it's always best to dress simply, but nicely, so that the emphasis will be on you and your achievements, not on your clothing and accessories.  As for the letter from your current employer, I most definitely would advise having that on hand during the interview.  If you have another copy of your resume or past work experience, you might present that, along with the letter, to the person interviewing you.  Best of luck!

  3. Dress nicely and YES bring the letter.

    Good luck for the interview!

  4. Yes, wear something nicer.

Yes, take the letter with you.

  5. Not necessarily nicer, but definitely just as presentable.

Yes, definitely have your letter of recommendation and resume with you, along with all other important documents like your social, HS/College Diplomas, ID card, etc.....just in case they have you fill out any paperwork.

You might also want to have some questions for them.  Ask about the company and its history, ask about possibilities for advancement, benefits, etc.  And take notes, this will show them your interest in the job.

    Best of luck to you!

  6. Wear something nicer but be sure that it remains professional (no tuxedos).

Take a copy of your letter along with a copy of your certificates. Package them nicely and give them to the VP. Keep your originals.

  7. I think cut-offs and a rock t-shirt would be fine. You might make an impression by cutting a loud f**t too.

  8. By all means wear something nicer!  Make sure it is conservative and not flashy.  Try to remember the style of the clothes the folks were wearing when you went on Monday and copy that, remember you want to fit in.  By all means bring the letter, the VP will probably already have heard about it or seen it but best to come in with your resume and what ever credentials you would need for an interview.

Wow how excited you must be.

Sending out great wishes for you right now!!!
