Second annual Patty Sheehan & Friends Pro-Am to be held on June 1
Patty Sheehan, who is a prominent figure on the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association), is going to stage the 2nd annual Patty Sheehan & Friends Pro-Am in cooperation with The Legends Tour.
The event is going to be held on June 1, 2012, at the famous venue of Hidden Valley Country Club, sources told.
Patty Sheehan, World Golf and LPGA Hall of Famer, has said that the event is going to spice the overall schedule of the LPGA, as there will a number of key players in the roster.
She told that the field will feature 20 LPGA Legends. The Legend Tour is the official senior tour of the LPGA and has been known for staging interesting events like the Pro-Am.
Patty Sheehan & Friends has been one of the leading events mainly because of the all-out efforts of the officials of the Pro-Am.
Pro-Am’s officials have been quick to respond to the requirements of the event and this is what has given the much-hyped an edge over similar tournaments.
The 2011 season saw the best edition of Sheehan & Friends, as there were a number of features that put the event in the limelight.
On top of everything, sponsorship was the most ideal feature, helping officials to stage the event in a proper fashion.
The 2011 event was special, as there was a strong roster of forty LPGA legends, exhibiting their performances.
Although many players grabbed attention due to their excellent performances, Christa Johnson was the most spectacular, as she grabbed the triumph by making 139 strokes.
As the two-day tournament has been known to award players with attractive prizes, Johnson pocketed $35000 by winning the title in the 2011 edition.
Sheehan said that the event is being played for the second year in a row and this is a great achievement for her and the LPGA officials.
She said that the involvement of LPGA Legends is a factor that is keeping everything intact.
“A second year is a milestone for our tournament and we’re thrilled to bring the ‘legends’ of women’s golf back to Reno for an incredible one-day Pro-Am,” Sheehan said.
