Question:

Second child?

This isn't going to happen until next year for us. We've decided we'll start in January or February for our next one. Hypothetically if we got pregnant then Noah would be about a year and a half by the time the next baby was here.

How far apart are your children? Or, if you're planning on having another one, when are you going to do so and what age will your first be?

  1. I don't have any children but me and my little brother where 5 years apart. But if i did have children and decided to have another child I would have them at least 2 or 3 years apart.

  2. My daughter is three now and our next baby will be born just 2 months shy of her fourth birthday.

  3. Mine Are Exactly 1 1/2 Years Apart. And We wanted Kids close to age So It has been Perfect for Us And The age gap has worked well for us.

  4. Almost 7 years apart.  : )

Our infant son was born on 5/29/08. On 7/20/08, his big sister turned seven years old (So, I had a seven week old and a seven year old at the same time).

The age difference works wonderfully for us. I wanted to make sure that my daughter had at least 5 years of being an only child (Probably because I was an only child myself). She has adjusted to having a baby sibling around very well and is, honestly, much like a little mama to him.

  5. My son was born April 23, 2007. We are right now 26 weeks prego with son number two. He is due election day November 4 of this year. We planned to have the first two a year apart.

Our last one we want when the two kids we have already are about 4 and 3 years of age. We will see how that goes, but I will not have one right away after this since my Army hubby is due to go back to Iraq for a year December 30 of this year.

    Noah is so adorable!

  6. I have a 5 month old and I got pregnant when she was 2 months. I think it will be perfect. They will grow up great friends!

  7. im not a mom, but i have a brother thats 4 years older than me, and it really sucks lol. um so i wouldnt wait too llong. i think 1 to 2 years is gud. =]

  8. ok, well im not a mommy yet.:( but my little bro and sis are 1yr and a half a part. and i want my kids to be 1 yr or 2yrs apart. i think what u r going for is a great distance apart. but its close enough so they r like best friends. lol. Good Luck!

  9. We will probably try for another in a couple years. We have our hands full right now. Here are my kids' ages:

    Addison and Emma- 8 months

    Carsyn- 3

    Noah- 5

    Peyton- 7

    Carter- 8

    Shane and Gemma- 20 days

    Noelle- 13 (stepdaughter)

We would love to have one more in about 2-3 years. xD

  10. I had the first two 13 months apart. It would have been easier if they were twins. But they are close to each other relationship-wise... Ideally I wish they had been at least 18 mos apart.

My next was born when the oldest was 7. The other two were a big help with the baby-but as they got older they grew apart.

Believe it or not I had another child when the oldest was almost 18. The youngest who was 11 went thru a lot of turmoil as she loved being the "baby". Now all of them can't get enough of the youngest.

  11. Our son was 21 months when our daughter was born.  Our daughter was 13 months when our second son was born.  For a couple months each year, they are only a year apart.  Although it wasn't exactly planned that way (not the youngest anyway) we wouldn't have it any other way.  I think its kinda fun saying they are "3, 2 and 1".  I love the looks people get on their faces.  lol  Since the eldest's birthday is in late September (after the school cut-off date) and the other two are summer babies..... they'll only be a year apart in school.  It'll be interesting when they get older.  lol

  12. My son is 5 months old now.  We plan on starting to try again somewhere between Halloween and Christmas so they'll be only a year apart in school (if it doesn't take too long) and no less than 17 months apart.

  13. I currently have a 23 month old and am due in Nov with my 2nd, so about 2 years 4 months apart

  14. My daughter half brother Alex is 5 years old,he adores his little sis,and wants to help all the time.

My mom waited 3 years after having me to have my brother Jaime, then 2 yrs for my brother Nicolas, and another 2 years for my sister Britawni.

Personally I think it would have been better if my brother and I were closer in age.We might have been friends, and not just siblings.

  15. my son is five and I am 35 weeks along with my second, a little girl. We actually thought we were done with just the one, but surprise!!! I couldnt be happier though!

  16. a lot of people who have 2 or more children tend to have them 1-3 years apart. usually if its closer to one it may have not been on purpose

  17. I have tow kids a girl that is 2 and a son that is 8 months. They are 22 months apart and i love my girl was at the right age to enjoy helping mommy and know that my son c an get around he loves to try to do what big sister is doing . So go for it.

  18. Mine are 26 months apart, which can be challenging at times since we are dealing with potty training and nursing at the same time. However, it is also the distance between me and my brother and I think it worked out great, we were always good playmates and friends.

My brother's kids are 18 months apart and he said it was challenging at first. Since the older one walked later, and he really couldn't talk either when then next one came along. However, now they are close to each other and play well with each other.

What ever you decide good luck to you.

  19. My son is almost 3.5 years old, and we're expecting #2 in March 09, so it'll be just over 4 years between them.

  20. I was originally planning on waiting to start untill my first one was 2 so my son would be at least 33 months when he had the next one.  But my husband kept moving the date up on me!  So I had to put my foot down and tell him I at least wanted our baby to be two when the next one was born.  We started trying for #2 this month.  That way by the time she is born or first one will be 2 or just about to turn 2. (depends on what week I ovulate, this is the same month I got pregnant with my first one)

  21. Good luck. We have two children and I'm pregnant with our third who is due next month. Our daughters are 6 and 2. So a 4 year age difference between our first and second, a 2 year age difference between our second and third, and a 6 year age difference between our first and third. There will be no more additions after the baby is born next month.

  22. I am 17 years younger then my brother and there are no children between us, and you'd think with such a huge age difference we wouldn't be close, but we are and always have been even as I was a child.

  23. HEy lovey,

    I have an 11 yr old , a 2 yr old ( april 17 2006)

    and a 3 month old ( may 3 2008)

im finding it okish ... my 2 yr old is a pain , didnt want me feeding , tries to 'take bubby away' but on the other hand if i ask her for something like a cloth etc , she will go and get it ...so........IMO a 2 yr gap is fine ...at 18 months Noah will be into everything , walking and getting up to mischeif...LOL..

My 11 yr old is a godsend i have to say ...dunno where id be without him ....

youll be fine tho.. you just deal with what your given....

    go well  xxxxxxxx
