Second day highlights of Avantha Masters, DLF Golf & Country Club
The second round of the Avantha Masters was suspended when darkness descended on the DLF Golf and Country Club making it difficult for the players to spot the ball. The tour officials decided to put the round on a halt at 6.10 pm according to Indian Standard
time, but has resumed at 7.15 am.
Here is a quick glance at the second-day leader board.
Jeeve Milkha Singh is currently in the lead after composing a 67 on
the Friday. The Indian picked six birdies against one bogey and formulated the highest aggregate of the tournament.
He was followed by a trio, which includes Jbe Kruger, Rafael Cabrera-Bello, and Thongchai Jaidee. The group compiled a scorecard at 8-under-par, but the lowest number was produced by the South African. Kruger eagled the par-5 18th and birdied
six other holes to take a place in the top most section of the leader board.
Shiv Kapur who fabricated the lowest number of the day marvelled the crowd with his superb iron play. He fired a round of 65 with the help of three birdies in the front and four at the back. Chances are that he will finish strong by the end of Sunday.
Meanwhile, SSP Chowrasia netted four birdies, but missed a par-putt at the fifth hole and settled for a 69.
Maarten Lafeber who holed-in-one the 11th hole in the first round and won a luxury car from Volvo took a place in the 15th spot. He compiled a score of 70 after dropping two shots in the
second round. On the other hand, his compatriot Joost Luiten eagled the ninth hole in the front and capped the second round with a score of five-under-par.
The worst score of the day has been produced by Vishal Singh and Gurki Shergill. They produced 79 each and hence chances are that they will miss the cut.
