Question:

Second ear piercing won't heal right. Help me please?

In March I got my second hole piercings in my ear lobes with Silver Sterling ear studs at Claire's (these are holes alongside the first hole, i still have the first holes). They were tender afterward and continued being tender for weeks even though I kept washing them with the solution they gave me. I also noticed the area around the holes was blue tinted, but i thought that was just from the ink they used to mark my ears.

When it was time to take them out after six weeks, they were sore and crusty. This never happened with my first ear piercings at all. I have tried washing them with Hydrogen Peroxide and rubbing alcohol but neither worked. My sister told me to switch to gold studs, so I bought some 14k gold earrings and have been wearing them since yesterday. Should I continue washing them with something or do you think this will help completely?

  1. Sounds like a possible allergic reaction (with the blue tint) or that the earrings were no good.

See how the gold studs go but do continue to clean with the solution you have. Though do not clean with peroxide.

You can also take a warm washcloth dipped in warm water that have dissolved Epsom Salts to clean.

If in a couple of days you do not notice a difference, see your doctor.

You also might want to try earrings specific for sensitive ears.

  2. i have faced this same problem when i pierced mine.all you have to do is take ur earings out.try and clean it with pure water and cotton.then use a sodium fusidate ointment.it is available in every medical store.believe me,it wont hurt.the swelling and puss will go within two or three hours.the one i used was named fusiwal .after a day when the pain and swelling is gone.keep ice cubes in the place ,put the ointment and u can put back ur earing so that ur piercing does not get closed.it is advisable to use a ring kind instead of studs to provide air passage to avoid any further infection for a while.it helped me.i hope it sure helps you
