Second hand car paint treatment?

just bought a 2nd hand jag x type from my local vw dealer, dark metallic green, unmarked when i bought it but within a couple of weeks, lots of wee marks appeared.

i was wondering what the valeters have used to hide this, much much better than coloured polish and chipstick. just wondered if anyone knows of any product

cheers

  1. If the scratches & marks are not to deep the I would try T-Cut.

This works by taking  a layer of paint off your car & getting down to a new one. Ive used it plenty times before & I think it's great.

Since it's a jag your talking about, it probably has 10 layers of paint, so you wont miss one.

    GOOD LUCK

  2. Your best bet would be to take it to a reputable valeter and ask their advice, the marks may be fine scratches due to regular visits to a car wash or someone living down a narrow lane with bushes, either way a good machine buff and polish should improve matters.

If you use a cutting compound yourself (not t-cut) be careful not to go through the laquer as you will end up needing spraywork.

  3. Im guessing they used a silicon that they spray one while washing, Iv seen this done at car lots
