Second hand ps3 help!!!

Question

i have just bought a second-hand ps3. But all the information when i switch it on is in the previous owners name. Do i format the ps3? i cant play PES2008 online, the game that came with it, because it is registered on there already and i dont know the password.

Do i need to register the ps3 with something??

Im not that clued up on the system so any help you can give i'll be so grateful.

i would restore it or whatever. You will need a PSN ID as well, which you can do yourself.

Go to the users menu all the way to the left (it's the face icon) and select "create new account".

it depends whether you want to keep item already on the ps3's hardrive eg demos and music if so then format the ps3. If not make a new user and delete the one which was his this will kepp all things such as music and demos but delete information such as PSN ID. If you do not already have one then you will need to create one which is pretty simple and allows you to play online and access the playstation store. Then you will be able to play online on your games. One more thing if you still cant get online download the newest sytem update. Hope this helped!!
