Question:

Second interview cancelled and phone instead. Do I have the job?

So I had an interview for a job I am highly qualified for. After, I sent I formal thank you letter. By the way- this is an invitation and stationary place. The district manager called me and we set up a second interview, but then he called back the same day and said to my voicemail "I just found out I will be out of town, but just call me because I would love to ask you a few questions." Do you think I got the job? I don't think they are doing this for any other candidates.

  1. It's probably just as he says.  A second interview is always good.  I doubt that it means anything better or worse that he changed it to a phone interview.

  2. Sometimes businesses do phone interviews.  Not uncommon.  You have a good chance of getting the job if the phone interview goes well.

  3. I'm sorry. but I don't see anything about a phone interview. The message only said his schedule had changed, not his hiring procedure. Still, saying he would "love" to ask you a few questions is not exactly "sop" either.

I don't think you have the job yet, but I don't think anyone else has it either. Good Luck.
