Any predictions?

Seems like she's moving more westward now.

  1. It's still way out in the Atlantic, but my best guess is:

40% chance it will turn out to sea.

10% chance it will come ashore in South Carolina.

30% chance it will graze Cape Hatteras, NC.

20% chance it will plow through Baltimore, MD.*

*Let's really hope this scenario doesn't play out!

  2. she will fizzle out in a few days

not a threat to the US, too far away and the upper level winds are strong and will tear it up

  3. yeah i live in NC and just like becky said it hit nc....

    now everyone is saying.

    "BERTHA IS BACK!"

and it sucks because i dont want it 2 hit nc because i am going to be at the beach!

  4. i bet it will choke its little self just like many storms last year

  5. seems awfully like the path of hurricane bertha in 1996...

  6. Noone can have a positive prediction right now, past 72 hours..  hurricane's are very unpredictable.

A tidbit of useless information, the last storm to form this early in the season, this close to the cape verde islands, was ALSO named Bertha, in 1996...  coincidence??  Makes you wonder....

1996 Hurricane Bertha made landfall around Wilmington, NC as a catagory 2 and caused $270 million in damages.

  7. What storm?

  8. It's too early to predict where she'll go. As of 5am July 5,2008 she was 1200km (750mi.) west of Cape Verde moving west northwest at 34km/h (21mph). There's a large projected path that extends from Maine all the way down to South Florida. She won't be near land until the middle of next week. By then they should have an idea of where she'll go. But as of now it's too early to predict.

  9. It is going to hit the United States, more probably the areas between Virginia Beach and Savannah.
