  1. I'm a nurse, so:

    PROS:

    -always have a job

    -paid very well

    -gratifying

-so many different areas to work in

    -lots of benefits

    -very interesting

-you will appreciate life more and become more weary about health hazards

    CONS:

    -schooling is stressful

-can't have a weak stomach, you will see EVERY bodily fluid you can think of, coming from any or every body o*****e

-nursing can be very stressful, especially since lives are in your hands alot of the time

-sometimes no matter what you do or how hard you work there are those very few that make you feel like you are unappreciated and beneath them or worthless (it happens but just once in a blue moon)

All in all, nursing is very rewarding. You feel like you're doing something wonderful. It really makes you love helping others. The worse part is having to watch a family go through h**l & sad times when their loved one is terminally ill or passes away. On the other hand it feels so awesome whenever you are a part of changing someones life for the better. I love being a nurse!

  2. Well i am not a nurse ,but a Respiratory Therapist,

    pros: money

            helping people

            knowledge

            always have a job

cons : two yrs of your life gone

             studying none stop

            stressful stressful

             continuing education

These are just some , the good out weight the bad , because i am still thinking about the cons, family members, not enough staff, doctors are horrible , more then one pt going bad. I am not trying to scare you , i say go for it , It is rewarding and plus your husband or boyfriend

can get one of those shirts that say "I feel safe at night because i  sleep with a nurse"

  3. There's a huge difference between the two.  I would gain some experience of each before making such a huge decision.  Ever thought about primary education?.

  4. Well I'm a secondary teacher:

    Pros:

-I personally love being with the kids and seeing the impact I have on them.

-Teaching schedules are generally more flexible if something major were to come up

-Able to be home after school with my future kids

    -Get to be creative!

-Summer break, winter break, spring break!!!

    Cons:

-the pay is not the greatest (as a nurse you would make like 3x what we make!)

-the parents/administration can get ansty if you don't do things their way

-Requires a lot of planning time, and time working outside of the classroom

But I agree with what other people said, try to get some experience in both and see what you like. Try not to make the decision on the money factor alone, because while we make less, I am 10x happier in my job than what I was previously going to do (be an engineer). So do what makes you happy.
