Secrect shoppers....scam or legit?

Was wondering if anyone has been a secret shopper or has any infomation about it. I know most websites you have to pay to get the information and usually when you have to pay up front for something, it's never a good sign.

Some are legit, but lots are scams now-a-days.

If "They" are offering you a good way to make money, and "They" really believe that "Their" infomation will help most of their "recruits" succeed as secret shoppers, then "They" would let you "pay" for the information out of the money that "They" say you can make, AFTER you make the money.

But, "They" don't really believe that their information will make you money now, do they?

There is such a thing as secret shoppers/mystery shoppers many stores big retail stores, restaurants and banks use them.  First of all real companies do ask for upfront fees!

You will not make not a lot of money being a mystery shopper. Do not believe the hype ads you see on the internet.  You will usually have to make a purchase and are paid back 4-6 after a shop is done.  The work is not steady and so it is best to sign up with a few companies and even at that you can't count on it to be a decent monthly income. Mystery Shopping companies will also usually have you taking tests to make sure that you can follow directions.

Some are definitely legit! Big companies (like target) pay the secret shopper company to hire out secret shoppers to find out details about their store.  Such as how many times in a couple of hours were you asked for help.  You can take the jobs you want and pretty much make your own hours.  Not much pay though.  I think it is a little more than minimum wage.

Never heard of one that's legit. I vote SCAM.

EDIT - OK, I guess I should have been more clear. I meant that the ones who claim to be offering "secret shopper" jobs ON LINE are all scams.
