Secret Circle to stretch out in distance in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile says trainer Bob Baffert
The 2-year-old Bob Baffert trained unbeaten colt, Secret Circle is being considered for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Churchill, and also the goal to run in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Sprint at about 6 furlongs still stands, said trainer Bob Baffert on 12 October.
Secret Circle is coming off a win in the Jack Goodman Stakes at Santa Anita Park’s dirt course over a distance of 6 furlongs on 10 October, 2011, where he defeated Galex and Panettone with the winning time of 1 minute and 08.27 seconds.
The son of Eddington, out of Ragtime Hope by Dixieland Barbie, Secret Circle broke his maiden in his first attempt at Del Mar on 23 July, 2011, at about 5 ½ furlongs under jockey R Bejarano as he completed the 5 ½ furlong dash in 1 minute and 3.40 seconds.
The main aim to run in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile is to stretch out the juvenile colt in distance, because the race is run over a distance of 1 1/16 miles, especially when he won the Jack Goodman Stakes in fine fashion by 5 ¼ lengths and earning a Beyer Speed Figure of 97 on the way.
Secret Circle earned the same Beyer Speed Figure of 97 in his maiden stakes race, and after a couple of awesome performances Bob Baffert is going to try him out in a long distanced race.
Bob Baffert is totally up for the two turns in the Breeders’ Cup for the juvenile colt, who is already turning heads.
Bob Baffert’s contender for the Breeders’ Cup Classic Game on Dude, who started workouts in Southern California on 12 October.
Game on Dude went half a mile in a good time at Santa Anita, as he covered the distance in 47 seconds flat, the experienced Game on Dude is bound for the Breeders’ Cup Classic and he has already bagged the Grade 1 Goodwood Stakes at Santa Anita on 1 October.
Along with Game on Dude, Mike Harrington trained Creative Cause is a candidate for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, and he also turned in a workout of half a mile in 59.40 seconds.
