Secret City tipped to win Walters UK Handicap
Secret City has got a solid chance of winning the Walters UK Handicap at Ffos Las in England on Monday, July 2, 2012. The winner of the class-4 event will bag a cash prize of £4,075 in the end.
There has been some rain at the venue, thus the going will be soft and the runners will have to cover an overall distance of 6 furlongs in the race, which is scheduled to start at 20:55 GMT.
A general price of 11 to 2 has been given to Secret City, who is in pretty decent form at the moment. He has participated in quite a few events, but does not have a good winning percentage, which is not a positive sign. However, his record is better compared to his rivals, which will encourage the punters to risk money on him.
Overall, the six-year-old gelding has participated in 31 events, winning five of them whereas finished as runner up once. Moreover, he has secured the third spot thrice, which proves that he has the ability to fight at the front with consistency.
The Robin Bastiman’s trainee debuted in the mid of the 2008 season and performed well in his first ever race, finishing third in it. However, his first victory came after eight outings, which was a bit annoying for his trainer.
City On A Hill’s son improved his performances after winning his maiden race, as his confidence level surged. He has only taken part in three events this year and has managed to win one of them. He was not expected to finish at the top back then, but surprised one and all with his speed.
In his most recent race, the Irish runner finished third out of eight runners, which was a very good result. He entered that event with a starting price of 5 to 1 and gave a tough time to his opponents.
However, the conditions did not suit Secret City last time around, but things will be different for him today. He will be partnered by seasoned jockey, Daniel Tudhope, who is in nice form at the moment and will be eying a strong show at Ffos Las.
