Ejaz Ahmed Faruqi, the secretary of KCCA has been axed from the membership of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board for passing derogatory remarks about the PCB in his press statements. Faruqi criticized the board a number of times on different occasions which provoked
PCB to take such extreme measures.
A spokesperson from PCB gave media the details of the matter and told that Ejaz Ahmed Faruqi repeatedly breached the code of conduct by passing criticism and humiliating remarks about the board and its functioning.
This resulted in an investigation by the board disciplinary committee to charge Faruqi for the breaches of Conduct of Holders of Office Rules 2004. When anyone joins the PCB office, he adheres to the rules and regulations and even gives a signed undertaking
to comply with these guidelines.
Repeated show cause notices were sent to the secretary KCCA but he did not respond which worsened the matter and the issue was taken to the president of KCCA. The president then ordered a disciplinary action to be taken against the secretary for the repeated
violation of rules.
Ejaz Faruqi continued with his stubbornness and refused to comment of the initial report and clearly denied all the charges committee had put forth.
In this situation, the inquiry officer of the investigating committee recommended that the secretary of Karachi City Cricket Association be relieved from his duties and his membership be cancelled from the KCCA.
General Manager Domestic Cricket, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shafiq-c89281 Ahmad was the inquiry officer. He had called Faruqi for the personal hearing in which the alleged secretary was given a chance to prove his innocence, but he failed to do so. Therefore, Ahmad recommended his axing
under Rule 9 of PCB Code of Holder of Office Rules 2004.
Ijaz But, the chairman of PCB has confirmed this decision and further revealed that a notification has been sent to the Faruqi, informing that he has been immediately relived of his duties and his membership rights have been confiscated.
Although it seems to be a bold step but such actions on disciplinary grounds must be appreciated so that nothing of this sort happens in the future and everyone is held accountable.
