Who saw the TV special "secrets of psychics revealed"? It was just on MYTV9. It was interesting. They exposed John Edwards saying his camera crew talks to the guests before the show and that Sylvia Browne just pulls answers out of her head. Also, they exposed Criss Angel saying the spoon isn;t bent with the mnind, but actually pre-bent and his thumb is just used. What do you all think?

  1. Hello

I'm a psychic - no tricks up my sleeves. I can't say much on the ones that you have mentioned as I never watch them, find it all a bit tacky.

    Pam

  2. I'm starting to think you blindly believe this.

I will bet you quite a lot that if you went up to one of them and asked her a question she hasn't seen and couldn't possibly know, he/she won't be able to answer. No properly-done scientific test has ever found any evidence of psychic powers.

In short, do not trust TV shows. TV shows aren't out there to report the truth, they want to sell. and they will tell you whatever they want to make you watch them.

  3. I agree with you. I  think some are very good at it, while most people hardly notice it.

TV is just moneymaking for the producers. It doesn't even have to tell the truth - just be sensational and avoid getting sued.

Nobody said s****. Doo was real - yet thousands tune in to watch.

Psychic abilities exist - but not for profit in my opinion.

  4. Think of it this way.. imagine 3 spheres surrounding your mind.. the centre being the centre of your brain. The outer most sphere being the level of conscious thought.  Now in physics when you run current through a length of wire it produces electromagnetic fields... if you were to run a length of wire through these fields you can induce a current through the wire... so in essence you are transfering energy. Now if we are to believe that thought process are a result of electrical pulse in the brain, these pulse would have associated electromagnet fields, these fields would radiate through space and people within the vacinity would have these fields propogate through them.. in particular their brain. If we are to assume that these fields would generate a thought pattern (obviously to a lesser degree due to losses in signal strength) then its possible to produce the same thought pattern. The current running to a wire is an analogy. Hence people that are 'close' generally can 'pick up' on how they feel/think, its a matter of 'tuning in' and becoming aware.

This outside sphere of consciousness is indeed what some 'psychics' tune into.. hence they can be very accurate in and usually say things that you want to hear. They aren't psychics in the true sense... but essentially 'mind readers'. Everyone does this to some degree... they simply have a greater awareness of this ability.

Then there are the total and complete frauds who often call themselves FORTUNE tellers.. cause they make a fortune from telling you anything (usually total rubbish).

I am sure alot of these TV shows require you to send in requests to be part of the show.. enough information for them to research selected candidates..there is a wealth of information at hand that will tell you social security details, deaths and births, photos etc.. i think we all know where this is leading to.

As far as bending spoons goes.. this would require a significant amount of energy, as we currenlty know of it...heat, force etc.. not sure about changing its state to that of 'fluid' by just stroking.. if that be the case surely there is better use to put ones ability to.

    food for thought.

Grab life by the balls and spit the world in the eye i say....

  5. rrrh,,,Don't get mad. The skeptics aren't allowed to "see" or "hear" or "believe" yet. And the ones who do it for big money just make them believe less. I think the real psychics..who only do it to help people..even poor people ..will always be unknown. Don't try to make your mother "famous"...it might ruin her abilities. It's a serious thing...it's not a game. Hang in there.

EDIT..People say psychic things when they don't even realize it. But they shouldn't be blamed if they don't even know it. They don't know what it means to the person..but the person sometimes think they do or that they're spying on them. Maybe a spirit is spying on them..and speaking through the psychic. I'm just guessing.

  6. Sure they exist.

Don't listen to the skeptics.  Find others that know exactly what you are talking about instead for more enjoyable conversation.

  7. You shouldn't use words like smartass and "imasule".Your Mom may not lie,but she could be mistaken.

  8. Wait ... you just said that you watched that whole show that exposed the best-known psychics but you still believe there are people out there?  Guess what, they are using the same tricks.

But if you think you actually know someone with psychic powers, there's a million bucks in it for them if they can prove it.  http://www.randi.org  If they don't, you'll know they were lying.

  9. It sounds like you have already made up your mind on the answer so I will not put an answer that you are looking for up.  I believe that you are a very closed minded person and hope that maybe you will someday relize that you are missing a lot out of life by being this narrow minded.

  10. stop getting information from stupid made up TV shows like americas psychic challenge. Face it, no one has been able to demonstrate psychic powers, and noone will.

John Edwards and Sylvia Browne are frauds.

I thought Criss Angel was an illusionist and a showman, I did not know he made real claims to paranormal powers, outside of his show. If so, then he a fraud too. If its just in his show, that just showmanship, all illusionists claim paranormal powers while on stage. Offstage they will be the first to tell you its an illusion.

  11. I am an engineer and. generally take nothing as true unless it can be reliably and repeatably demonstrated as such. However, when my three year old son tells his grandmother that "Mommy burnt her hand, the iron went bang." at the exact moment it happened despite being 8 miles away even I can begin to believe.

I do take television psychics with a lorry load of salt but I do not discount the possibility of true psychics being out there.

An excellent debunker of the less honest mediums etc. is Derren Brown, well worth watching just for the entertainment.

  12. That John Edward and Sylvia Browne are shameless frauds comes as no surprise to me. But they still make millions off the gullible and probably always will.

By the way, America's Psychic Challenge?  It's a highly produced TV show. You can be sure that the producers/directors/handlers are making certain that the psychics get all the info they need to make some very informed guesses.  How long do you think the show would last if all the psychics kept getting things wrong?

  13. Believe what you will dear friend. That is the beauty of 'existence'.....

  14. there people who have this abilities

ofcourse must are just  like david coprefield

    tricks magic etc

  15. Dear rrrh....  Yes, there are truly people with intuitive abilities.  I say intuitive because I happen to be one of them and I don't care for the word "psychic."   When people hear that they immediately think fraud, fake, scammer.  Unfortunately, there are people that are like that.  On the other hand; there are others who truly are intuitive, psychic, or whatever you would like to call us who use whatever our abilities are to help others.  I can't speak for anyone but myself; but I am honest, ethical, don't lie or make stuff up.   As for whatever negative things people are posting, don't worry about their opinions.  I don't; I have nothing to prove to anyone, nor do I feel it necessary to convince anyone of anything.    I will say to you and everyone else that it is possible to do readings without information on whoever your reading.  I do it all the time; even over the phone.  I've read for other intuitives, as well. Yes, I also get information from and about those who've passed over; or as some would say "I see and talk to the dead."   Yes, the information I have given has been validated time and time again, not those who need help, but also scientifically.  I don't want to be rich or famous, so I don't charge much so that the majority of people can seek help from me if they want to.  When I am working on a missing child case or helping children; I don't charge anything at all.  It is just another way to use the gifts I was blessed to be born with (it is generational, at least for me!) to help others.  And please don't believe everything you see on TV; about almost any subject, especially one that's controversial.  Sensationalism increases ratings and ratings brings in money.   Better yet, turn of those silly programs and spend time doing things you enjoy or with those you love; maybe you can even combine the two!

  16. i think there r real gifted phsyics out there that talk to spirits an see ur future...  its jus that real physics dont use there gifts for selfish reasons...  they dont charge big mony or go on tv an never become rich an famus...   so yea it dosent surprise me these famus phsyics like john edwards an silvia brown r all fakes....  that silvia brown specialy always seemed sleezy to me....  i never liked her from the first time i saw her an i never belived anything she says.....  im glad they showed wat a fake she is.....

  17. Anyone claiming telekinetic abilities that defy physical laws is simply using sleight-of-hand, shills, or trick props.

Anyone claiming the ability to converse with spirits is either using shills or the well-documented technique of cold-reading.

Psychic abilities don't exist.  The sooner you realize this, the less likely you will be conned out of your money.
