Section 8 Application?

Hi I am trying to help my Aunt get on section 8 housing here in Phoenix Arizona but it says that they are not excepting applications right now. My question is, when will they start excepting applications again? Do they start taking them again every couple of months or every year.. she needs to get on the list as soon as possible due to domestic abuse.. Thanx in advance!

You need to call social services to find out when they will start accepting applications again, however understand that there is usually quite a long waiting list.  It could take many years before your friends name reaches the top of the list.

She should go to a women's shelter.  In many cities housing is provided to them subject to availability and circumstance.

Section 8 housing assistance has been discontinued due to budget cuts. If you appy anyway you will be put on a gov't watch list for possible welfare fraud. So don't bother applying. Good luck

Call the local Red Cross for immediate assistance. Call your local Housing Authority and ask them when they are going to be excepting applications for Section 8. Also ask them which apartments in your area except low income residence that can just fill out applications right on the property!
