Secuity cameras in the U.K.?

Question

All i want is a camera to go above my front door (which is inside a porch) that will connect to either laptop or tv, so i can see who is at the door before answering.

My house is upside down so it is quite annoying having to get the baby, run upstairs only to find its someone trying to sell me something i dont want every time the door knocks.

Ive looked on the internet but its just confused me. So if anyone could point me in the right direction i would appreciate it!

security Why a camera?

I bought a simple video bell from B&Q

There is a camera in the bell unit. The bell rings, you have a monitor and a handsfree phone.

You can stay downstairs and talk to them, or ask them to wait while you walk up to open the door, or ask them to go away.

Or, don't answer at all! If you don't recognise them, ignore them!

A home security camera is what you need. Try your local Argos they sell good quality black & white as well as colour cameras.

www.maplins.co.uk have many stores, do mail order and quality is good. They also have frequent special offers

The link below has both camera and colour monitor so you don't need to use your tv. However you do need to run a cable from camera to monitor

If you want a wireless one just search the site for the same thing but wireless, it will cost a few pounds extra
