It is important to remember that PCB’s integrity committee has not cleared Malik from match-fixing allegations since he failed to give details about his foreign bank accounts.
According to the new code of conduct which was introduced by the PCB after the spot-fixing scandal late last year, the Pakistan players have to disclose information regarding their assets to the integrity committee.
There are suspicions within the PCB about Malik having links with potential match-fixers. However, the 29-year-old Malik has denied such allegations and has reiterated that he has never had any links with match-fixers and has given all the required details
about his bank accounts to the PCB.
Nonetheless, the cricketer has still not been cleared by the integrity committee to be considered for selection in the national team.
Earlier this week, chief selector of PCB, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohsin-Hasan-Khan-c77595, insisted that the performance of the players currently engaged in playing county cricket will not be brought under consideration for selection in the national team. He insisted that players performing
in the domestic circuit will be given an opportunity to represent the country.
