Security Breach to shove Shamooda and Equity Swap aside in the Eflow Rewards Apprentice Derby
The nine three-year-old and above runners who have registered for the Eflow Rewards Apprentice Derby, are an exciting mix of those who are either at the verge of striking hat trick or are the well seasoned who have recently graced their records with a victory
posting. However, all on the line-up are not as accomplished.
The mile and four furlong race will be held at Curragh on Friday, 29th June. The highly likely entry for bagging the €13,650 prize money today is Security Breach, backed by 11 to 2 odds.
Red Clubs’ three-year-old bay gelding is quite lightly raced as compared to the competition today. He has undertaken three career outings ever since the new season cracked open.
He took up the third position in his seasonal debut on 21st May, 2012 in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund (C & G) Maiden at Roscommon over a mile and two furlongs.
Learning from the first experience, the three-year-old held a firm grip on the very next opportunity on 2nd June, 2012 in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden at Tramore over a mile and four furlongs.
Andrew Oliver’s under charge had C. D. Hayes onboard and dodged the closing in rival, Dante Inferno, by a mere neck’s margin.
Getting cleared with the maiden, gave Security Breach the chance to become the part of the line-up of the Special Rates For Groups Handicap on 13th June, 2012 at Fairyhouse over a mile and four furlongs. Snatching the success away from the Lear’s
Crown foaled was, Shamooda, who edged past a nose’s margin.
The two will race again today and if this time the tables will turn or not, will come out in the open soon.
Security Breach will race over the same distance as was in his last attempt but on a different race course and with a different jockey, I. J. Brennan.
The potential threats among the contestants are Equity Swap and Shamooda. Both have back to back wins posted as the most recent events on the profiles and are reaching for possible hat tricks today. Equity Swap stands with 13 to 8 while Shamooda has 9 to
2 chances of claiming the race today.
