Question:

Security Clearance?

On my security clearance form there is a place to put half-brothers and half-sisters. I have never even met them before. I didn't even know I had half-siblings until like 2 days ago. And they don't live in this country. Anyway my question is, do I have to put them on the form or just leave it blank?

  1. I agree with Roarmar.  The whole point of a security clearance in our nation's MILITARY is to keep people with half-brothers named Achmed that they forgot to mention on their form from finding out secret information.  You'd better go the extra mile to fill it out completely, because Uncle Sam will go the extra mile to make sure it's legite.

  2. Yes, include them. Do not omit any information. If you have never met them then that's is not a problem.

  3. ESPECIALLY, because they live in another country you have to put them down. The purpose is to see where your loyalty is and if you're reliable to be trusted with America's secrets.

  4. You have to put them on the form.  You need to find out from your parents or relatives their information.   Also it depends on what other country they live in too - because of that you could be denied a clearance.  If you leave it blank and play the 'dumb' card it will be suspected that you are hiding something.  It takes extra work up front but will save you hassle in the long run.  Also by not putting their info on there can constitute a fraudulent enlistment and bring you prison time.
