  1. You need a business policy.   Is it just for you or do you have employee?.    Workers Comp insurance rates do depend on your payroll, that is how much your employees are being paid.

  2. Well in California its about $300 per month for unarmed and $500 for armed.  That's for $0 in payroll, your insurance goes up with payroll.

  3. No such thing as an average. So many variables,

What do you want insurance against ?

    What are you guarding

    How much is it worth

    Where is it

    How many staff

    How experienced are the staff

    How established is the company.

Claims history of the people involved

    etc etc ad nauseum

Only way to really find out is to see a broker and get a few quotes. It's reasonably niche market so finding a good broker is well worth the time and trouble.

  4. If you are in Uk there are a couple of specialist firms who insure Security firms which will include things like Loss of Keys and all sorts of little extras.  It isn't cheap because of the Employers Liability risk which you must have by law.  I know one company whose employee died because he was guarding a property, sat in his car in winter, employer did not provide any heat so he ran his engine to keep warm and died of CO poisoning,  THe best thing to do is call a commercial Broker.  My friend used one for her business and they were really helpful and although they paid a bit more they got specialist cover so a lot of claims were picked up.  She sang their praises to me.

Number if you are in UK was 01458 270411 and she deals with Matt.  Hope it helps.
