Im just curious but If someone steals something in shops and the alarm goes off cant they just walk away?

Or if they actually do that do their faces get logged on the cameras and the security guards look if they come in the shop again?

Or is it just totally forgotten about if they get away with it?

  1. theres criteria for shop or security to  follow if they stop someone for shoplifting its remembered as SCONE.

    1.SELECTION (PICKING UP ITEM)

    2.CONCEALMENT(HIDING ITEM)

    3.ONE HUNDRED % OBSERVATION(OF PERSON)

    4.NON PAYMENT

5.EXIT (THEY MUST LEAVE SHOP NOT JUST BYPASS TILL)

if these are not followed and a person is falsely stopped the member of staff or security could be breaking the law themselves as security have no more powers of arrest than a normal person in the street ( citizens arrest) but they can keep your image on file for future reference.

  2. No it's certainly not forgotten and retailers in shopping  centres share their information.

  3. Many shops have plain clothes security guards outside the shop also, especially around the holidays.  Video serves as evidence in resulting prosecution.  Makes it an open and shut case.

  4. If you manage to steal something without anyone noticed, there's a high chance that they'll see you taking the goods when they watch over the camera footage. Effectively what they'll do is give you an indirect warning, so if you come back into the shop, they most likely wouldn't arrest you, but watch your actions, if you make an attempt to steal something again, they'll nab you, and use the footage they aquired beforehand as evidence aswell as the new footage.

    Hope that helps
