  1. Hey Natalia, How come you dont answer any of repair questions about Honda and Toyota? There is a ton of them. If you are such an expert about those cars why dont you help these people out? You are so quick to give some ridiculous ratings when someone is searching for help about a part or repair for a gm car. Usually your response has nothing to do with the question, its just a way for you to bash Gm. Well how about all the problem questions people are having with the hondas and Toyotas on this site? There are plenty of them. How about answering those. Or maybe you are so brainwashed you refuse to believe these cars have problems.Take a look at all the problems, and stop acting like Hondas and Toyotas are flawless! Back to the Grand am. The above post stating to put the key in auxillary position for 10 minutes are correct. Dont listen to Natalia the car is not ready for the recycle bin. She is just showing her ignorance.

  2. I have a 2002 Grand Am with the same problem, turn car on where all lights on dash are lit and leave in that position for 10 min. security system will reset and car should start...Security light should be flashing during this and turn off when system is reset...

  3. There both right about the 10 min's with key on. this will reset the system. You can remove the security system by installing a 10K ohm resistor in line. You will have to remove the radoi and the ignition switch. you will then see a 3 wire conncector in the ignition switch install the resistor on the yellow and black wire. you do nothing with the white wire. Then you will have to relearn the system by key on 10 min's.

  4. leave the key all the way turned to the on position for about ten minutes until the security light either stops blinking or turns off all togher then start your car and drive it to the dealership and tell them you need a passkey sensor and connector, it will also come with an ignition lock cylinder and the labor should be around 2.5 hours for this proccedure, good luck

  5. It's likely ready for the recycling bin, and may have been for the past 3 or 4 years, for a quite a number of reasons.
