but there better security software than mcafee that is free....

try avira antivir free edition...... or avast..

It depends on what you want to keep secure. Each package will explain what it does. I will tell you this even if you get everything offered especially if you are running Windows it is likely even if you keep the package completely up to date eventually something that is harm full will get through. It really doesn't matter which of the best security packages that you purchase from which company. Take it from someone who has caught two Virus's in the last five years and has had to have his hard drive cleaned and for mated both times. What an INCREDIBLE HASSLE.
