Security plan for Bangladesh tour delayed due to lack of coordination between federal and provincial government: PCB
Pakistan which has been desperately urging http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 to tour the country in order to resume international cricket is facing delay and problems in finalising the security plan for the three-day tour, due to lack of coordination between the federal and provincial government.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sources, the board had dispatched a letter to the chief secretary of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 Government on April 16, concerning the plan and security arrangements of the tour, but the provincial government has not replied to the PCB till now.
In an interview, PCB chairman, Zaka http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 shortly. The ICC actually was asking us to hand them the plan during the [board] meeting but we didn't carry it. It's our mistake that it is delayed for some reason but it will be sorted out soon."
Stressing that the tour should be taken as a matter of national interest as it would open the possibility of more such events in future, Zaka said, “The tour will not only benefit the PCB. The whole economy of the country is linked, so it's about the country not about the federal and Punjab government. I think all should play their role for the one national interest."
PCB chairman insisted that convincing Bangladesh to tour http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 was targeted by terrorists in a foiled kidnapping attempt.
The attacks claimed the lives of eight Pakistanis while injuring seven Sri Lankan players, which resulted in the cancellation of the tour immediately, since then no foreign team has visited Pakistan due to security reasons, starving the country of any international cricketing event.
Meanwhile, there are news from Bangladesh that many of the senior players in the national team are reluctant to tour Pakistan, which might force Bangladesh to send their second string of players to Pakistan.
