Security problem - Anti-virus2008 ??? ?

Question

I keep getting a security problem on my vista... It says i have spyware and malware and high risk!.. But when click on it nothing happens is this spam and fake itself and if so how do i remove it!... Please help!

Download and scan with the the following free software in order one by one, delete what ever they find should leave your PC free of infections:

Once you have removed the infections keep Avast and download Comodo Pro firewall, then switch to Firefox 3 if you are browsing with IE this should stop it returning. (links on my profile)

MESSENGER SPAM

do you get pop ups claiming that your computer is at risk?

those are called "Messenger Spam" ! to stop messenger spam:

open start page,open administrative tools,open services::these services are in alphabetical order.you need to close two:

a] Alerter

b] Messenger

NOT related to MSN messenger or any other instant messenger

right click each service,click properties,from drop down menu,select disable::another method to deal with those that get through is to copy the pop up address at the top of the pop up or pop under [ starts up AFTER you close a window ]::open internet options [ start--control panel--internet options ]::open content tab,open settings,open enable,enter address,click never,close::open Advanced tab: check to see if pop up blocker is checked,close::reboot

download and install a program called malwarebytes from www.download.com. after it is installed make sure it is up to date, then do a full scan. when the scan has finished click show items, then click removed problems. Also get AVG free anti-virus, you can grab it from http://free.grisoft.com, these are legit programs, i use them everyday to do just this

Download superantispyware or another anti-spyware from this site which has a good list of freebies.

reboot, press f8 at boot to go into safe mode, run the scan, that should remove the problem.

SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition also removes all the trojan's this will have placed on your computer.

Oh my God! That virus is so annoying! You should delete, remove and destroy is as soon as possible. I posted a question similar to this one a few weeks ago and the lovely men who answered gave me a great site to go on to get rid of this virus. You need to download a program called MalwareBytes because that searces your entire computer, finds the virus and completely destroys it.

Click the green 'download now' button (don't worry - this is free) and once you've downloaded it, got the updates and done a system sweep which takes a long time but it's worth it, you should be fine. It also solves the desktop, wallpaper and screensaver hijack, too. Good luck.
