I was reading the Olympic medal coverage on the Yahoo! Homepage, and when you click the country's icon it gives stats about that country, including Official Language. I say we dig up some guts and defy the PC police and make English our official language at last.

  1. Amen !!!!

  2. You don't say which country you are from so ths question is kind of hard to answer...

All countries have an official language or languages enshrined in customary or explicit law. You imply that you live in a country that doesn't have one hence I would assume that it has more than one (as I said, no country has no official language(s)). The reason for official multiple languages (e.g. Canada, Switzerland, India, etc) is usually deeply rooted in history and culture and sound policy; it would take a very significant change in demographics or circumstance before people should even think of changing official language(s).

P.S. what the IOC thinks should have little relevance to national policy of any country so I wouldn't worry about that.
