4. no owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar nor drink the same drink.

THE QUESTION IS - WHO OWNS THE FISH?

The Britt lives in the red house.

The Swede keeps dogs as pets.

The Dane drinks tea.

The green house is on the left of the white house.

The green house owner drinks coffee.

The person who smokes Paul Mall rears birds.

The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.

The man living in the house right in centre drinks milk.

The Norwegian lives in the first house.

The man who smokes blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.

The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.

The owner who smokes Bluemaster drinks beer.

The German smokes Prince.

The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.

The man who smokes Blend has a neighbor who drinks water.

There is no fish.  A fish is not mentioned in this at all apart from in the question.  After working all of the clues out you can see who smokes what and live in which house.  The German is the only person left who hasn't been paired up with a pet.  It does not mean the pet is a fish.  He may have a different animal or no pet at all.

EDIT:  Haha.  Where did you pluck that incorrect answer from??  As I said, there is no fish.  The German is left with no pet and because you ask where is the fish, you assume the German owns a fish.  Without being told in the clues that someone owns a fish, how can you be sure?  He could own a dog or he might not keep any pets.
