  1. Any large, readily available seeds will do; Peas and beans are easy. All you need is six containers, and an area where they will not be disturbed. The conditions (temperature and moisture) need to be the same in each container. All you need do then is observe and record.

  2. Okay, so you'll need six seeds... you should try vegetable seeds because they have a wide range of germination times, so you'll get more variety.

You'll need some constants, too, so here's some suggestions:

*Same brand of seeds (Burpee is a great choice)

*Same type of soil (Miracle Gro soil for Flowers and Vegetables works really well)

*Same amount of soil (Maybe 2 cups for each cup)

    *Same container (A plastic cup?)

*Same amount of sunlight (Put them in the same room with a few windows)

*Same amount of water (100mL a day)

Here is a list of seeds from Burpee that I think you should get:

    *Bean Bush Seeds-http://www.burpee.com/product/id/106811....

    *Pumpkin Seeds-http://www.burpee.com/product/vegetables...

    *Carrot Seeds-http://www.burpee.com/product/vegetables...

    *Beet Seeds-http://www.burpee.com/product/vegetables...

    *Tomato Seeds-http://www.burpee.com/product/vegetables...

    *Cucumber Seeds-http://www.burpee.com/product/id/105174....

Here is a website for Miracle Gro soil:

You can get all of the seeds and the soil at Home Depot, too, if you want.

    I hope this helps! :)
