Question:

Seed or Bedbug? Scared!?

I found a brown seed under my pillow, (just like a regular sesame seed)

What do bedbug eggs look like? The seed had no legs, but my bed is wooden.

My room is very, very clean by the way. And should I start spraying the frame with Raid every month?

  1. If you have bed bugs you will know really quick because they will bite you and you will have lots of little red bite marks on your legs and arms. Sounds like you picked up a ?sesame seed from somewhere and it got under your pillow.

Here's a picture of some bed bugs  - for comparison, http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl...

and here some bites of bedbugs, http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1033/5677...

So there you go, I hope you can relax now.

  2. Here's an excerpt from a website.  I doubt what you found is a bedbug, especially do to the size and color.

Female bedbugs can lay up to five eggs in a day and 500 during a lifetime.[citation needed] The eggs are visible to the naked eye measuring 1 mm in length (approx. two grains of salt) and are a milky-white tone. The eggs hatch in one to two weeks. The hatchlings begin feeding immediately. They pass through five molting stages before they reach maturity. They must feed once during each of these stages.

  3. I would think that it was a seed that had been on your hair that dropped off we have a wooden bed  and would not think that you would get any bugs coming out of the wood. If it had been a bed bug you would have seen more than one so its highly unlikely. so sleep peacefully.

  4. Here is a photo of what bedbug eggs look like:

My guess that it was a seed that somehow got stuck somewhere and fell off under your pillow.
