Seeding list for 2012-13 Snooker Season revised
Previous snooker season for the year 2011-12 finished successfully with a superb end to the 2012 World Snooker Championship on May 7, 2012. The World Snooker rankings and seeding list has been revised at the start of the 2012-13 Snooker Season right after
the finish of 2012 World Snooker Qualifying School (Q School) at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield.
The World Top 16 potters according to the revised seeding list are:
1. Mark Selby
2. Judd Trump
3. Mark J Williams
4. Stephen Maguire
5. John Higgins
6. Shaun Murphy
7. Neil Robertson
8. Stephen Lee
9. Ronnie O'Sullivan
10. Matthew Stevens
11. Ding Junhui
12. Mark Allen
13 Graeme Dott
14. Martin Gould
15. Ricky Walden
16. Stuart Bingham
According to the revised snooker seeding list, England’s Mark Selby remains on top of the rankings as he retained his position performing convincingly in the previous snooker season. Selby started his season run with a superb victory in the 2011 Wuxi Classic
putting up an excellent display at the Wuxi Sports Center arena.
The Jester from Leicester clinched the Players Tour Championship (PTC) Event 4 victory followed by the 2011 Shanghai Masters snooker event title which brought him on top of the rankings. Since then, the Englishman has kept his World Number one rank with
his outstanding performance until the end of the season despite his neck injury.
Second place is occupied the two-time Fans Player of the Year Award winner, England’s Judd Trump. The former World Snooker Championship finalist was impressive in the 2011-12 Snooker Season as he claimed two PTC and two Premier League Snooker events which
proved his talent once again to the world especially after he made his way back into the top rankings.
Trump earned one of his brilliant victories after he lifted the 2011 UK Championship title in December beating the Northern Irish potter, Mark Allen by the score line of 10-8 in the final encounter at the York Barbican Centre arena. The UK Championship victory
pushed him up in the world rankings.
One of the most noticeable shifts in the seeding list is the four-time World Snooker Champion, England’s Ronnie O’Sullivan who made a marvellous comeback and grabbed the 2012 World Snooker Championship beating Ali Carter 18-11 in the final encounter and
moved up from number 11 to number nine in the overall seeding list.
