Seedorf admits Juventus deserved the victory and heaps praise on Conte’s tactics: Serie A news
A.C Milan midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Clarence-Seedorf-c9275, believes that Juventus deserved to win the game as his team could not cope with their pressure.
The Turin giants beat Milan 2-0, thanks to a late brace from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Claudio-Marchisio-c9312 at the Juventus Arena on Sunday, October 2nd, 2011. Juve moved at the top of the league table equal on points with Udinese.
Seedorf believes that his team were outplayed by Antonio Conte’s men as they could not cope with the pressure they applied on them in the early periods. The 35-year-old believes that his team were lucky to have not conceded a goal
until the 87th minute but insists that the result is a fair indicator of how his team performed throughout the game. However, the former Real Madrid star is confident that his team will start clicking after the international break.
While talking to the reporters, Seedorf said, “They were the better team. The loss, which we almost managed to avoid, is the right result. We shouldn’t lose heart, though, the [international] break now will do us good.”
The Dutchman went onto praise Antonio Conte’s tactics for the game and believes he got it spot on. Seedorf believes that his team was outplayed in the midfield department and heaped praise on his former teammate, Andrea Pirlo,
who had a fantastic game for Juventus.
“I think they did well to change their tactics for the game, we had some trouble pressing them. But it’s no use over-analysing the game now. We knew that they would be up for the match and they were. Andrea [Pirlo] had a great
game, he played well. We were under pressure from the start and we couldn’t impose our game on them and create chances.”
Pirlo left the Italian Champions to join the Turin giants in the summer transfer window and made a huge impact to down his former employers.
Milan have had a disappointing start to defence of their title and have picked up only 5 points from as many games thus far. On the other hand, Juventus are at the top of the table with 11 points from 5 games.
