The Rossoneri lost 3-1 despite taking an early lead through http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Edinson-Cavani-c11955 scored a fine hat-trick to lead his team to the top of the league table.
Milan have not tasted a win in the 2011/12 Serie A as yet and have picked up only one point from the two games played thus far. Seedorf believes that his team played really well in game and the score-line was not a true reflection
of their performance.
The former Real Madrid star congratulated Walter Mazzarri’s side on their win and believes that they deserved to win the way they took their chances. The attacking midfielder understands that his team is under pressure from the
start of the season but believes that the season is too long to decide.
Talking to the reporters Seedorf said, “We tried to get back into it, but we did not succeed. We have to congratulate Napoli. But let us move forward, there is still a long way to go - we are only at the second game. Of course,
we are disappointed to lose points, especially at the start, but the team played well.”
The 35-year-old is gutted that his team could not hold onto their lead for too long and conceded an equaliser almost immediately. On the other hand, he is also ruing the mistakes his team made to let Napoli play freely on the counter
attack and it led to their second goal. However, the former Ajax star is hoping that his team will bounce back strongly in the midweek game against Udinese.
“It is a pity Napoli drew straight away. They have a fantastic weapon - the counterattacks - and a counterattack led to the second goal. We tried and pushed, so we cannot be too disappointed. On Wednesday, we expect another very
tough team."
Milan will play hosts to Francesco Guidolin’s men in their next league encounter on September 21st, 2011.
