For some reason I can see better with my glasses than with contacts. Is there a reason for that?

  1. It could be that you have an astigmatism correction. That is usually corrected more precisely with glasses than with contacts.

Or it could just be that the prescription isn't right in your contacts...

That is a broad question. A lot more info would be needed to determine anything.

The Dr. where you get your contacts would be the best one to ask that, he has all the info needed to pinpoint a reason for it.

  2. It's possible that your contacts aren't fitted properly. Have your optometrist examine your eyes with the contacts in and see if they are properly aligned. Some eyes are harder to fit than others. When I had well fitted contacts I could see better with contacts because there is no glass curvature distortion. Glasses have optimal viewing areas meaning some angles are better than others, contacts don't.

Try rotating the contacts a little. See if slightly clockwise/counter-clockwise gives you somewhat better vision. If it does, the they are definitely not fitted properly.

But your eyes can change shape after wearing contacts. So if you get some that fit really well, they might fit less well later. (That's also part of why they tell you to stop wearing contacts a few weeks before eye surgery. They have to shape your eye based on its natural shape.)

Get you contacts remade if you haven't let the deadline expire. It's most likely that they don't fit properly.

  3. Maybe that "seeing better" part is due to the glasses not being as precise in measuring your exact vision so those glasses may be too strong for you. Maybe you should clean out your contacts and then try again. Contacts automatically conform to the ideal eye shape but glasses rely on the visual acuity of your eyes and not your actual eyeball shape so try to get another eye exam to confirm whether or not your glasses are too strong for you or it may be your contacts try and clean them out and wash them and afterwards try again

  4. me and me my mom have contacts she has astigmatism and she sees better with glasses i dont have astigmatism and i see better with contacts check if you have astigmatism next time you go to your optometrist
