Seeking a good place for a birthday event in Detroit

Hello all, I will be turning 28 next week and I'm looking for a good place to have an event in Detroit. I know it is a small timeframe but some clubs have VIP areas and bottle service areas for minimal fees that include free cover for you and your guests. I'm looking for some recommendations of nice bar/lounges to check out. Preferably an upscale place, 25 & up (21 & up acceptable), that plays R&B and Hip Hop. If you know of any, please share.
