I will be retiring in Crete, Greece if I live long enough - hoping to aim for December 1st. I've been to Greece several times and can speak just enough for simplest conversation. Seeking to find other expats and a simple seaside existence for me and small dog - time and health does not permit further exploratory missions - I seek advice regarding Chania ... information leading to a possible 6 month temporary rentals would be so greatly apprecitaed it would make your head spin! I must rent for under 1,000 u.s. (geez louize, who'd a thunk it -- worseless paper, yes indeed now it sure is isnt' it?)

  1. The best bet is to go there and find somewhere when you arrive.  Stay at a local holiday apartment first - make sure it has heating! Then look for somewhere more permanent - Dec should be relatively easy - you may find it limits you with a dog - Greeks don't really like dogs in their apartments.
