Seersha or Saoirse? Which one ?

I love the name Saoirse but am wondering if i should spell it phonetically when I give it to a kid -- Seersha. Wdyt?

I would never be able to prounounce Saoirse....  You will have to explain it to people and correct them frequently with this spelling.

I love the name Saoirse.

Seersha is an ugly spelling and the name loses all it's meaning.

I wouldn't spell it 'Seersha" because it looks like you made it up, but "Saoirse" will constantly get mispronounced...I would spell it another way, like Sersia (which is a little closer to Seersha) or Searsia or even Circia (which looks cool written out). They look more like "real" names (not like LahFawndah, etc.) but also will be easier to pronounce based on spelling than Saoirse.

I didn't know how to pronounce it when I first encountered this name, but everything can be learned... and maybe by the time your kid grows up, everyone will know the pronunciation because of Saoirse Ronan (a great actress IMO).

Saoirse, definately!  It has such a light and crisp sound to it, and I love that it carries and exotic charm.

The Seersha spelling just looks like an awkward, muddled mess.  If it is the pronunciation that you are not willing to burden a child with, then give your little one Saoirse as a middle name, and a less obscure first name.

Saoirse - I definitely feel the traditional spelling is best.  And the meaning - freedom - is much more meaningful when you spell the name correctly.
