Segregation - as in a complete isolation in which each race has absolutely zero contact with one another is the only way to end racism and prejudice between the races?

  1. To some extent, racism will always be. However racism will be  reduced when we make contact with intelligent life on other planets. Then it will be people of the earth showing greater prejudice against those on the next planet.

  2. What about the breeds. Where do they go? I agree homogeneity would bring peace but only enhance racism. (The different other)

  3. I think it might solve prejudice against those of different skin color/ethnicity/cultural background/whatever you want to call it, but I don't think it'll solve the fact that Humans just aren't happy without somebody to hate. If we separated by race, soon there could be prejudice against red-haired people, or blue-eyed people. And even if that didn't happen, we'd eventually start hating Jewish people, or Catholics, or Protestants, or any other religion. And if THAT didn't happen (Ha!) we'd just find something else that made somebody else inferior or superior.

  4. Segregation doesn't solve racism. It encourages it. Racism is hatred based on fear. Even in your hypothetical situation where the races had practically no contact with each other, fear of the unknown would still lead to racism.

  5. just because the races have no contact with each other is not going to stop people's prejudice thoughts. Theres no way. Plus how are you going to separate each and every race. There are so many of them and some are even mixed. sorry i just dont think its going to work.

  6. Some of the kindest and most intelligent people I know are a different race then me. I am white. No I don't think that will end racism. I think it will further escalate it. I think the way to end racism is tougher laws against hate crimes(Which Obama will do), and educating the ignorant backwoods rednecks who are the ones spreading racism in the first place.

  7. Racism is definitely a learned behavior.  Children in kindergarten have no problem interacting with one another.  I know this because I have worked at a elementary school.  Plus my Mom taught kindergarten and elementary grades.  We have discussed this many times.  Children of all races can play and learn together and have no problem because their friends don't look like they do.  They do fight and argue with each other also, but not because one is black or white.  It is in the home where the children learn to hate because a parent does not want their child to associate with another child because they are of a different race.  So to end racism, start in the home and at an early age.  It may take a few generations, but in my opinion it is possible.

  8. DNA research shows that almost all italians are 17% or more african, most African-American are 30-50% caucasian and 1/2 of all europeans have some asian ancestry. You would need a scalpel to create anything like segregation and the patients would likely die.

The horses are out of the barn. Go hide in a cabin in the woods and pretend you are not mixed race yourself.

    And Sayonara, mutt!

  9. it could solve it in a twisted way....mabe.but people who know vey little of each other tend to look down on each other. doesnt really solve, just ignores it.

  10. what about most americans and other individuals who are not of pure race?  what you gonna do with them ?

  11. Well, I think your question lacks a few elements.  Do they know what each other look like, and how they live?  The Romans had almost 0

contact with China, and they never thought of them as inferior, superior.  So in reality, it could work.  And most likely would work.

But religion has a big part in racism.  The others could hate another race merely because of their religion.  And religion further divided mankind into ever more races.  Remember the feud between Catholics and Protestants, and Catholics and everyone else.

But Racism could not exist without race to begin with.  And the creation of race began as a way of classifying different groups of humans based on their traits, location, and appearance.  So organization is the cause of racism; in short-terms.

  12. It wouldn't get rid of it, migration because of population growth would mean that they'd meet again. Then you have to consider it from a biological point of view, if you were to separate races then the gene pool will go back and inbreeding will create disease and eventual extinction. Race is a funny proposition anyway it is all made up, there is no such thing as Race there is only one race of human beings the difference between one person to another depends on the geographical settings of their previous generations. Consider this, most "African-Americans" only have 20% of their genetic make up from Africa

  13. Good point of view but that will not last long as 0 contact will not lead to anything. Only way is through awakening of mind and body. Racism is something imbibed in the mind and therefore the mindset. Hence, its the need of the hour to think better and not be so menial in our pursuits for being called human beings.

  14. Sorry pal, but that is going backwards instead of forward as civilization.

  15. then what  will happen if they accidentally meet?
