Seifert, Struff, Baumann, Fischer win qualifiers - 2011 Eckental Challenger
The 2011 Eckental Challenger saw the 1st round qualifying matches being played on October 29, 2011 in Eckental, Germany. Stefan Seifert (Germany) won his match against compatriot Peter Gojowczyk, 7-5, 6-3. The 26-year
old Seifert was playing intelligently against his fellow citizen, as both players were equal competitors.
Seifert delivered seven aces while his 22-year old opponent scored points with eight aces. In the first serve percentage, both were equally successful as Gojowczyk had a fifty-five percent success while his opponent had a fifty-six
percentage success ratio.
Later in the day, Jan-Lennard Struff (Germany) played against Evgeny Kirillov (Russia). The 21-year old Struff won the match in straight sets 6-4, 6-3, who has not won any ATP title in his career. The 332nd ranked Kirillov
could have won the first set but his double faults, twice in the set, reduced his pace in the match.
Although it was an evenly fought match with both players delivering three aces each, it was Struff, who kept his momentum going in the match as he won both sets. Struff, ranked 238th in the world, now moves into the
main tournament.
Another player advancing in the tournament by winning his qualifying match was Daniel Baumann (Germany) when he defeated compatriot Constantin Christ, 7-6 (6), 6-2. Christ, ranked at 1261 spot in the world, gave a tough time to
his fellow citizen whom he was playing against for the time.
The first set entered a tiebreaker, which Baumann won 7-6(6).  Both players conceded five break points in the first set and both successfully saved two of them.  With five aces in total and first serve percentage of forty-eight,
Baumann did not give any space for a counter attack to his 18-year old opponent.
Holger Fischer (Germany) also won his qualifying match in straight sets against Stanislav Poplavskyy (Ukraine). The 20-year old Ukrainian could only manage to save three out of his six break points while his German opponent had
a hundred percent ratio for he saved both of his break points. The 502ndranked Fischer delivered seven aces while Poplavskyy, ranked at 564th in the world, managed to score four aces.
In the last 1st round qualifying match on October 29, 2011, Pierre-Hugues Herbert (France) defeated compatriot Jonathan Eysseric.  21-year old Eysseric saved thirteen of the fourteen break points he conceded with a first
serve ratio of fifty-six percent but his opponent, Herbert, won the match 7-6 (4), 6-3. The match win went to Herbert as he won ninety-percent of his first serve points as compared to the seventy-four first serve points his opponent won.
