  1. It is made from Whole wheat, so you shouldn't have a problem unless your alergic to wheat.

BTW: Veggies could get along just fine without soy. All types of beens, nuts, and seeds have large amounts of protein in them. If your lacto-ove you can get most your protein from eggs and dairy.

  2. Just be careful of vegetarian jerky.  All that I have seen has soy sauce mixed in (even the jerky made out of seitan). The  other types of Seitan shouldn't bother you though.

  3. i do know that it tastes very good and has never caused me a problem

  4. Seitan contains no soy, and since you aren't a celiac you will have no problem digesting it.  Basically, if you have no problem with wheat products there's no reason you'd have a problem with seitan (wheat gluten).

    Praise Seitan!!

  5. Seitan is known as the "wheat" meat and should not contain any soy. And prepared right it is really tasty!! I haven't had too much luck yet seasoning it myself but am still trying. Meanwhile some brands carry pre-seasoned seitan products and my husband and I use them in recipes about once every week or so. And we both have liked it when we've ordered it at the few veggie restaurants we found so far that serve it.
