Question:

Seker Bayrami in Istanbul?

Hi, I am from Taiwan and I am going to Turkey from 21st Sep to 30th Sep. I found out that I will be travelling during Ramadan. I am going to spend my last day, that is, 30th Sep, in Instanbul and do some sightseeing. But I found out that that day is the begining of Seker Bayrami. Will tourist spots like Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar be closed that day? If it is so, I would have to reschedule my travel plan.

Does anybody know the details? Any advice or answer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  1. You should see Sultanahmet in Seker bayrami.

  2. I would doubt national monuments would be closed on those days, but the bazaar may not be as active as usual.

try contacting them here(sultan ahmed mosque)

  3. Blue Mosque will not be closed, because it is 'bayram' and people go to mosques in bayrams. but most museums and palaces must be closed. but i guess Grand Bazaar will be open but most shops will be closed.
