Select buttons on my iHome stopped working. Anything I can do?

My iHome worked up until about 2 days ago, when some of the buttons seemed to just stop working out of nowhere. The dimmer button, and the button that allows the iPod to play through the speaker (play-pause) just stopped working, but they still have the orange light surrounding them, giving me the illusion that they would still work. Is there anything I can do before purchasing my third, yea third iHome?

Sounds like the micro-processor got hit by a AC line surge spike. Probably through a close lighting strike or a power station switching surge. If under warranty they might repair it, but if not would probably be to costly to fix. It would be wise to use a good line suppressor with all electronic gear; like Monster Cable or Tripp-Lite, these two power line conditioners are pretty good.
