Selecting and Copying text on Web Page???

Question

I made a web page using sytle sheets and lots of divisions to arrange the page to my liking. so it uses a lot of <div> and <spans> and absolute and relative positions.

Why is it that when i try to highlight/select text, i can't select the text like normal? it will only highlight a part of the line and stop. I have noticed this on other web pages on the web also. Does my page design have something to do with this? How can i fix it?

Absolute positioning can interfere with text selection.
