Selection Committee includes http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shoaib-Malik-c90088 in Pakistan’s squad for Zimbabwe’s tour – Cricket News Update
The selection committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has picked the all-rounder, Shoaib Malik, in the squad for the forthcoming tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045.
The Chief Selector, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohsin-Hasan-Khan-c77595 has announced the decision, and stated that Malik’s inclusion was finalised after consulting with team management.
"After discussions with the team management everyone agreed that with his experience the team would be further strengthened." http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohsin-c77587 said.
"His name was already in the reserve list of players for the tour and the PCB integrity committee cleared him last week," he added.
Earlier, while announcing the team for the bilateral series against Zimbabwe, the selection committee kept Malik’s name in the reserved players, and inked his selection in the squad, conditional to clearance from the PCB’s integrity
committee.
Meanwhile, the former captain has provided sufficient evidences to answer the integrity committee’s doubts regarding his involvement in match fixing, which led him to get clearance.
In the meantime, Pakistan’s former opener, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Muslim League – Nawaz (PML– N), claimed that the PCB has cleared the
right-handed batsman, Malik following political pressure.
The 44-year-old, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sohail-c90628, who was one the best opening batmen in the recent past, lashed out at the governing body of cricket in Pakistan, and questioned that if Malik was innocent then why PCB has been investigating the issue for
a long time.
However, Pakistan’s former captain, Sohail showed confidence on Malik’s talent, and said that his inclusion in squad will strengthen the combination of the Men in Green.
Earlier, the captain of the Pakistan cricket team, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 also favoured the selection of the middle-order batsman in the squad, and cited that his inclusion will boost the morale of the team.
In the team meantime, Pakistan’s head coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Waqar-Younis-Maitla-c96193, who resigned from the ranks, also showed excitement over the selection of the off-spinner, Malik in the home side.
"Shoaib's inclusion will bolster the strength of the team," Younis said. "He has lots of cricket left in him and its good that he is again available to play for Pakistan."
