The chairman of selectors believed that the youngsters needs to make a mark in the shorter version of the game first, while playing domestic cricket as well, to enhance his skills and reputation, before claiming a spot in the five-day game.
However, he was adamant that Smith is the future of Australian Cricket and cites him as part of the selectors’ plans.
The all-rounder has played in 5 Test matches so far and he has performed well with the bat as compared to his bowling stats.

Since the retirement of the world’s greatest leg-spinner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shane-Keith-Warne-c89672, the Aussies have struggled to find a replacement. However, it will be interesting to see how the slow bowlers fare in Sri Lankan conditions, which are usually spinner-friendly.
