What's the most economical way to self cater? I'll be staying at the Compostella Beach Broegan in the south of Tennerife. 4 of us are going, and it's an appartement with a kitchenette - but we're not sure whether they have saucepans etc. When a holiday is advertised as self catering - is there usually saucepans, plates etc?

  1. yes    but   very  basic if   theres four  of   you   going there  should be  enough   for  you all  ,  your  apartment  will have  a  small  fridge   and usually  a  hob   cooker ,  no  oven, but   sometimes  its   cheaper   to  eat  out   ,try the  local  tapas   bars  you  can  eat there      for  next to nothing     and the local  beer  and  spirits  are cheap   enough too, may i  recommend the  aqua   park    (octopus  park)  its  a fun  day  out   for  a  bunch of lads  , you also have to   go to  linekars   bar  its gary's  brother  waynes  bar   ,its open  very late  also they have   a weatherspoons  which  play   music   unlike the  boring ones  in the  uk  ,a  tip   don't dress  up  when you  go  out  , noone  does  anyway have  a great  trip

  2. hi i have stayed at the compestella beach. it is nice you are 15  minute walk from playa de las america and 15 minutes from los christianos. they should have the majority of the equipment you need but of course you dont know who was there before you and how well a check the representatives have done therefore little things like tin and bottle openers wont be there and take your own tee towels.but saying that you have the most amazing resturants there at the side of compastella beach there are little ones good for a breakfast. then you have the steak house who also do a mean breakfast and wicked meals and 2 minutes along from that on the corner is an english bar/resturante great if you have kids good entertainment. failing that at the front of compestella beach, cross the road go along, round the corner, cross at the zebra crossing and down the path to a few good pubs for sing alongs and bingo. irish pub and george of the dragon. hope this helps

  3. yes theres normally saucepans, frying pan, microwave, salad mixing bowls, toasters, kettle, 2 ring hob, basic but usable,,, take your own bacon if you like bacon butties in the morning and your own teabags,, the rest you can buy out there

  4. Why not ask the company who are advertising the holiday. It is so simple these days with email.

I would guess that if they are advertising self catering then there would be all kinds of cooking utensils.
